Our specific ministry works on the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Wake Forest, home of the Demon Deacons, is a competing member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). We host large group worship and ministry meetings on Tuesday nights at 9pm in the Rovere Room on campus. We also offer various bible studies, community outreaches, and impromptu gatherings. |
Founded in 1966, Athletes in Action is a branch of Cru, a global Christian mission organization, that uses the platform of sports to point people to Jesus and to help others understand God's plan and purpose for their lives. Our vision: to see a day when there are Christ followers on every team, in every sport, in every nation. Our mission: to build spiritual movements everywhere through the platform of sports so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus. Our ministry is led by Joe and Kim Haynes, both student-athlete graduates from Clemson. Joe played football, while Kim played basketball in their time as Tigers. They have two children, Noah and Ani. Our current intern is Caitlin Clarke, a recent Wake Forest graduate who played on the volleyball team and was deeply involved in Athletes in Action during her time as a student. As a team, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to minister at Wake Forest, and we pray we be diligent workers for the Lord so that others may come to know Him.
